Welcome to the Veazie Community School website. The Veazie Community School is a kindergarten through grade 8 school located at 1040 School St., Veazie, Maine, 04401. The school day begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 2:35 PM. Students may be dropped off before school between 7:45 and 8:00. Parents with K - 8 children new to our community may register those children at our school office between the hours of 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM. Students of high school age have a choice of several surrounding high schools. Questions concerning high schools should be directed to the high school being considered. Kindergarten Registration - Kindergarten registration/screening for the 2010-2011 school year will be held on Thursday, March 4 and Friday, March 5. Veazie parents with a child turning 5 on or before October 15, 2010 are asked to call the school office (947-6573) to make an appointment.Superintendant Notice (Flu) - attached file
School Closing Procedures - In the unlikely event that we are ordered to close the school, we will notify parents and students through the local media outlets.
Mid Day Closing: It is unclear at this time if we would ever be asked to close after the children have already arrived at school. We, of course, would only close under these conditions if it became absolutely necessary. Please be aware that if this happens we will contact parents of kindergarten through grade five students before releasing these children. Because of concerns with supervision and safety, K - 5 students will not be put on the bus or allowed to walk home unless a parent has been contacted. Students in grades 6 - 8 will be released to go home in the normal manner.
